Which Neighborhoods In The Tampa Bay Area Are Safest?
Whether you're new to Tampa or have lived in the area your entire life, you've likely noticed that our city is rapidly evolving and changing. In the next few years, we'll see even more growth thanks to several high-profile development projects slated for downtown. But with growth comes uncertainty, and it can be hard to know which areas of our community are safest. Thankfully, ranking site Niche analyzed data from the U.S. Census, FBI, and the U.S. Bureau of Labor & Statistics to determine the best neighborhoods in the Tampa Bay area.
1. Palma Ceia (33629)
In Palma Ceia, you'll see a mixture of modernism and the historic landmarks that make Tampa a great place to live. It's one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Tampa Bay, so it isn't surprising that it ranks No. 1 on this list.
2. Hyde Park (33606)
Hyde Park is filled with unique restaurants and shops, and it's constantly growing. According to Niche, this is the second-best area in the Tampa Bay area for schools, safety and other factors like job security. Even if you don't live in Hyde Park, it's worth a trip for its funky offerings.
3. Downtown Tampa (33602)
Downtown Tampa encompasses a large swath of our city, but the downtown area containing the Straz Performing Arts Center and the Florida Aquarium are top-notch, according to Niche. If you're looking for a safe place to live, try the Tampa Heights or Channel District neighborhoods within this zipcode.
4. Westshore (33609)
Beach Park, Parkland Estates and Westshore are all found within this zip code, along with premier shopping at Westshore Plaza. If you decide to live here, you'll also be a stone's throw from St. Petersburg and Clearwater, which will make it even easier to access the entire Bay area.
While these neighborhoods are considered the safest in Tampa, you can still live without worry even if you don't reside in one of the zip codes we discussed.
